ABOUT

ATAIDE WOODWORKS is a small woodworking studio based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Established in 2014, it is owned and operated by Leah Ataide. Leah specializes in fixtures and displays for artists and creative spaces. She also builds functional and ornamental décor for residential and commercial spaces.

BIO

Leah Ataide was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her parents are immigrants from Azores, Portugal. Her father, a self-employed carpenter since 18-years-old, has played a strong influence on her craft. She began learning the skills of the trade from a young age on job sites and in her father’s workshop. This exposure sparked a curiosity into the creative potential of building materials and equipment.

Leah graduated with a BFA from OCAD University in 2011 and a strong bond to the art community. Her experience in a skilled trade, combined with her art training, continues to open many creative and collaborative opportunities.
